Community Consultations

Reaching out to the right people at the right time with the right resources is what TOBOH is working towards. To help TOBOH achieve the goal, Tropicana Community Services is helping with initiatives like the Supporting Black Canadian Communities Initiative (SBCCI) and streamlining our processes.

Our partners at Twenty One Fourteen Consultancy Services (2114 Consultancy) are leading us to reach out to our community and beyond. The goal is achieved through a capacity-building project and a series of four in-person consultations and four virtual focus groups.

With the predefined priorities set by our own people, we will steer our journey with a focus to help with our best for our community.  Based on the information collected, we will structure and map the processes to meet the identified needs of our community.

We Support Research, Do You?

We invite you to contribute to our research as a national nonprofit organization that focuses entirely on supporting Black Women dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and life afterward.  Our research partners McMaster University are getting to the deep-rooted causes of why Black women are more prone to develop Triple Negative Breast Cancer. While the research goes on, we want to be a better help for Black women to meet their day-to-day needs.

If you support research and want to contribute to our work, opt for any of the following options:

1. Join in-person consultation

Join us for these in-person consultations, where we will focus on having conversations to find the best ways to support different women and their caretakers, followed up with some refreshments in Ajax, Scarborough, Mississauga, or Toronto.

2. Join a virtual focus group

Register here for a virtual focus group where we will ask you specific questions to help us identify the gaps in our service delivery and highlight the community needs which remain unattended.

Remember to invite your friends to register as well. The more perspectives we have, the better we are. Let’s make the change together.

Don’t forget to register for our upcoming Walkathon.
