  • Choose to be a non-smoker and avoid second-hand smoke

  • Eat a well balanced diet to help you maintain your ideal weight

  • Have medical and dental check ups

  • Limit alcohol intake

  • Be aware of changes in your normal state of health

  • Have regular screening and practice monthly breast exams

  • Beginning at age 40, have an annual mammogram. As early as age 20 get a clinical Breast exam every three years and check with your family doctor or gynecologist to see if a mammogram is recommended prior to age 40.

Although no concrete data exists in linking diet to breast cancer, there is enough evidence to make it worthwhile to seriously consider making some changes in your dietary life style.
