One of the key components of The Olive Branch of Hope is "Spirituality". Maintaining our Faith and keeping Hope alive is important to one's survival when diagnosed with breast cancer. After a diagnosis we are forced to take a closer look at who we are, why we are here and what we need to keep us going.
The Olive Branch of Hope is open to women of all faith dealing with a diagnosis of breast cancer. In every congregation there are people who have been diagnosed with cancer, many of whom are questioning their faith and the very existence of God. Spiritually Speaking is an interdenominational program that uses God's word for our basis of spiritual care and encouragement as well as for healing. The program is designed to assist individuals understand and accept that a diagnosis of cancer is not their fault, and that there is hope through faith.
We help you deal with the reality of cancer and provide you with an open forum to share and care through intimate discussions with others who are going through cancer or have been through the experience before.
Some of our Spiritually Speaking sessions cover such topics as:
- Christians and Breast Cancer
- Where Is God now that I have cancer
- Did I commit some great sin which resulted in breast cancer
- Living with Fear
- It's OK to be angry
- The emotional roller coaster ride after a diagnosis
